My name is Yasutaka Morita, and I’m a senior at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I am studying in the Health Science track of Public Health as preparation for medical school. I have genuine love and interest for the elderly as well as for those in need. My dream is to someday go on medical missions around the world, especially to developing countries.
Among all the science classes, I enjoy physics the most. My hope is to apply the physical principles and technologies to further the possibilities of medicine. The solutions for hearing impairment, such as hearing aids and cochlear implants, are great examples and applications of physical properties of sound. I am close to be done writing a research paper on the possibility of hyperbaric therapy in the treatment of sudden sensorineural hearing loss. It will be posted shortly.
